Town of Leesburg Contracts with Triple Point Security to
Conduct Information Technology Systems Risk Assessment
Triple Point Security is a Leesburg-based, HUBZone-certified cybersecurity
services firm.
Leesburg, VA (July 11, 2017) –
Through a prime contract with
Insight Public Sector’s U.S.
Communities government
purchasing alliance, local
cybersecurity firm Triple Point
Security will conduct a risk assessment of the Town of Leesburg’s information technology (IT)
systems.
According to Annie Carlson, the Town’s Information Technology Manager, Triple Point Security
will be looking for vulnerabilities in the Town’s network architecture, security systems, physical
locations, and procedures.
“Right now is an opportune time for us to be doing a risk assessment,” says Carlson. “This year
we will be updating our IT strategic plan and this assessment will help us map out the steps
needed to ensure the security of our network.”
Triple Point Security was founded by Carlo Espiritu, a Loudoun County High School graduate.
Last year, Espiritu moved the business to Leesburg, in order to take advantage of Leesburg’s
HUBZone. Today, Triple Point Security is a HUBZone-certified business whose clients include the
National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Fairfax County Government.
“We’ve been providing information security support to NIH for over four years,” Espiritu says.
“Currently, we’re managing security for the NIH’s presidential initiative on precision medicine,
which is a $250 million project. It’s great to get national exposure for a project like that on one
hand and on the other hand be able to help our hometown secure their information
environment.”
The company gives back to the community in other ways as well. Triple Point Security sponsors
a college scholarship of $4,000 awarded annually to a female graduate of Loudoun County
Public Schools who pursues a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
(STEM).
