HomeMy Public PortalAboutCouncil Minutes 1996 09/23MINUTES McCall City Council Special Meeting Monday, September 23, 1996 1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Killen at 12:00 Noon. Messrs. Colton, Martens and Killen answered the roll call. A quorum was present. Staff members present were City Manager Gary Shimun and City Attorney Ted Burton. 2. Post Office Sitinff Rick Fereday and Kathy Showers presented a proposed letter to the U.S. Postal Service asking that the decision on a site for the post office be deferred until city representatives could discuss the growth projections and other elements in the Postal Service plan with the Service. Council requested that the letter include a map of the boundaries of the U.S.P.S. and that the deferral be to specific time such as the end of 1996. Request for Proposals and the "Finance District" being proposed by the Downtown Subcommittee. After Discussion, Mr. Killen moved to accept the letter as modified and to authorize the mayor to sign. Mr. Colton seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Affreement and Notice to Proceed - Golf Irrigation Project. Mr. Henderson gave a report. Mr. Martens moved to approve the agreement subject to the City Attorney's review and to authorize the City Manager to sign the agreement and to issue and sign the notice to proceed. Mr. Killen seconde and the motion carried unanimously. 4. After further discussion of possible sites for a new post office, Mr. Colton moved to adjourn. Mr. Martens seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council adjourned at 12:50 P.M. ATTEST: City Clerk �' J Mayor
