Friends of Leesburg Public Arts Presents 1st Annual “Arts in the
Alley” Street Fair on July 29, 2017
In addition to more than 50 visual artists and crafters, there will be three
performance areas with live music, improv comedy, dance and theater.
Leesburg, VA (July 14, 2017) – The Friends
of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) is hosting
the first annual “Arts in the Alley” street
fair in downtown Leesburg on Saturday,
July 29, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m.
The fair will be located in and around the
Leesburg Town Hall. More than 50 artists’
booths, including painting, pottery,
photography, printmaking, sculpture,
jewelry, fiber arts, woodworking and
mixed media, will be in the alley along the east side of the Town Hall Parking Garage. The
gazebo in the alley will feature live musical performances throughout the day.
Musical entertainment on the Town Green stage will include Loudoun Symphonic Winds,
Loudoun Lyric Opera, Loudoun Chorale, Airmen of Note Air Force Jazz Band, and Mudlark Rock
& Blues. Last Ham Standing Improv Group, the Sterling Playmakers and Dance King Studios
round out the entertainment lineup on the main stage.
Kids’ activities and entertainment will be located in the Rose Garden behind Town Hall.
Entertainers include Blue Sky Puppet Theatre and Nrityaniketan Classical Indian Dancers.
“The focus of Arts in the Alley is to showcase local artists and artisans,” says Sue Stipek, FOLPA
president. “Communities that nuture and promote the arts improve the quality of life for
everyone.”
Admission to Arts in the Alley is free and free parking will be available in the Town Hall Parking
Garage and at the Church Street parking lot. For more information, visit
