Present: President Mace Terry, Vice President Becky Harlan, Secretary Leslie
Hanson, and Tim Trigg
Absent: None
Also Present: Gove Associates representatives Terry Killen& Kelly Brownell, Lynn
Wilson, Parks& Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk, and Park
Maintenance Superintendent David Bault
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by M. Terry at 7:00 p.m.
2. Presentation by Gove: The board reviewed the Proposed work scope(timeline)that
was presented by Kelly. The dates that the board has decided on so far are: April
9th, June 5t", July 8th, July 17th. Dates in August and September have yet to be decided.
Kelly and Terry discussed with the Board who should be targeted for the public
input session day on June 5th. Board members, Rod and Lynn agreed to come up
with a list of names for Gove to contact.
3. Personnel: Rod reported that two pool manager candidates have been interviewed
and a third candidate is waiting to be interviewed. He also reported that the
department has received 32 lifeguard applications.
4. Aquatics Center: At the aquatic center, the spectator/concessions/observer area
needs to be separated from areas used by swimmers by Indiana State Code. Rod is
going to look into getting a bid to extend the concessions fence into the deck area.
5. Director's Report: Rod passed his playground test. David Bault will retake the
class. Rod is also investigating buying a new copier.
6. Skatepark Project: Underneath the property at Robe-Ann Park where the skatepark
is proposed there is a sanitary and storm water sewers that will have to be moved. To
move both will cost $25,771.00. A motion was made by L. Hanson and seconded by
T. Trigg to use some of the $60,000 in cash balance to pay for that expense. The
motion passed unanimously.
7. Meeting adjourned: The meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
