Carried. Following a motion by Huisman, seconded by Van Deest, the meeting stood adjourned. i ayor Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on February 7, 1972, with Mayor Eckhoff presiding and all councilmen present. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read on a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Heinrich. Carried. On a motion by Huisman, seconded by Fairbanks, the treasurer's report was accepted as read. Carried. Hippen made a motion seconded by Heinrich to allow for payment the following bills: Aeilt Terfehn, net salary $394.50 Herman DeVries, net salary 394.50 Henry J. Grobe, net salary 72.00 Universal Welding and Machine Shop, repairs on truck, water main & spreader 90.00 Henry Hippen Auto & Oil, snow removal 90.00 State Hygienic Lab., water analysis 6.00 Peoples Savings Bank, box rent 2.00 Grundy County Landfill, landfill 204.21 Wellsburg Herald, proceedings & claims 29.20 Cordes Hdwe., heater repair & misc. supplies 19.52 Wellsburg Oil Co., gas & diesel fuel 9.33 Sailer Ford, tractor parts 5.25 Williams Office Supply, ribbon for calculator 2.70 Peoples Savings Bank, collection of water bills 60.47 Bernerd Harms, salary for 1971 120.00 Share Corp., sewer compound 39.49 United Telephone Co., toll calls 1.47 Iowa Electric Light & Power, utilities 837.13 On a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Fairbanks, the Peoples Savings Bank is to be the official depository for municipal funds in 1972. Carried. Following a motion made by Fairbanks, seconded by Huisman, the clerk was instructed to send notices to property owners re— garding repairiff or replacAiV faulty water meter+y March 20, 1972. Grobe, net salary 72.00 Krull's Skelly Service, gas and repairs 38.80 Fischer Insurance, premiums 1754.33 Williams Office Supply, file cabinet 82.20 Wellsburg Fire Dept., meetings and fire calls Nov. -Feb. 460.72 Zimmerman Electric, switch and repairs on motor 14.90 Cordes Hdwe., heater repair & supplies 39.32 Ross & Van Heiden, excavation 76.50 United Telephone, toll calls 9.17 Iowa Electric Light & Power, utilities 893.29 The treasurer's report was approved as read on a motion by Heinrich, seconded by Hippen. Carried. The Iowa State Highway Finance Street Report was approved as pre- pared by the clerk on a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Fairbanks. Carried. Harold Hogle and Glen Button, representing Melrose Township, appeared before the council requesting fire protection for specified areas within the township. A motion was made by Huisman, seconded by Heinrich to accept the Melrose Township proposal and to set a one-half mill levy on all townships provided fire protection by the Wellsburg Fire Department. Carried. A motion was made by Fairbanks, seconded by Huisman, to have a street light installed at the corner of East Jackson and 8th Street. Carried. City Engineer Hollis Ryken met with the council to discuss the possible extension of sanitary sewer lines. Ryken was instructed to conduct further investigation of the matter. Huisman made a motion, seconded by Fairbanks for adjournment. Carried. ayor Clerk
