A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 94 -1 TO
REDESIGNATE THE SUBJECT PROPERTY (CASA ROBLES
MISSIONARY HOMES) FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO
INSTITUTIONAL ON THE CITY'S GENERAL PLAN MAP FOR THE
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6345- 6404, 6413 -6417, 6423 OAK AVENUE
AND 6332, 6334, 6374 ENCINITA AVENUE AS ILLUSTRATED ON
THE ATTACHED MAP LABELED AS EXHIBIT "A"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. Based upon testimony received at a noticed hearing before the City Council and
upon facts contained in the staff reports, as well as information and testimony contained in the Planning
Commission Minutes, the City Council finds:
1. That the change in the designation from Low Density Residential to Institutional will provide for
the reasonable development of the subject site which would be consistent with the existing use of
the property; and
2. That the subject General Plan Amendment will allow for the expansion of an institutional use
which would be compatible with the surrounding residential neighborhood in that the majority of
the Institutionally designated properties within the City are located in residentially zoned
neighborhoods; and
3. That the subject site has been utilized for many years as a quasi - institutional use and the
redesignation of the subject site would bring the land use designation into better conformity with
the actual use of the property.
SECTION 2. This project should not result in significant effects upon the environment and a
Negative Declaration has been prepared in accordance with the State CEQA Guidelines. The initial
statement as prepared indicates there is no potential for adverse impact to the environment generally and
specifically as it relates to all wild animals, birds, plants, fish, amphibians, and related ecological
communities, including the habitat upon which the wildlife depends for its continued viability.
SECTION 3. Accordingly, General Plan Amendment 94 -1 is approved.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to passage and adoption of this resolution and enter
it into the book of original resolutions.
