The meeting was called to order by Mayor Eimers at 11:00 a.m. Ms. Arp, Mr. Colton,
Mr. Eimers, Mr. Muller and Mr. Venable answered the roll call. A quorum was present.
Members of the staff present were Acting City Manager Carla Donica, Treasurer Ashley
Royal and City Clerk Cherry Woodbury.
Accounting Clerk Position
Ashley Royal presented reasons for the new job classification and pay scale. He noted
benefits of flexibility and cross training with the creation of the position. Discussion
followed on the pay scale in relationship to the current Comp Plan.
Mr. Muller inquired if advertising for the position was necessary. It was stated that
temporary personnel already were filling the position and this would make the position
permanent.
Ms. Arp inquired about funding the position and how it would be included in the budget.
Mr. Eimers noted that under the new sewer and water proposal the funding for
personnel to do the billing was included. Mr. Royal also stated that the funds for
software conversion included in the proposal could be deferred.
Mr. Colton moved to approve the creation of the Accounting Clerk position and the
appointments of Linda Stokes and Karen Fries. Mr. Eimers seconded and the motion
carried unanimously.
Adjournment
Without further business, Mr. Muller moved to adjourn. Mr. Eimers seconded and the
motion carried unanimously. The council adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
