A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING A ONE YEAR EXTENSION TO THE ATTACHED LAW
ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood is desirous of creating and
maintaining a safe community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood's contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department is due to expire on June 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to maintain continuous law enforcement services to
the community: and
WHEREAS, the City authorizes the extension of the existing contract of one
additional year; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding to continue the current basic law enforcement
services is included as part of the adopted FY 2009-10 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to sign the contract
extension for a period not to exceed one year.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 9~h day of June, 2009.
