HomeMy Public PortalAboutJanurary 7 2004 Regular Session r Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting Wednesday, January 7, 2004 Present: President Leslie Hanson, Secretary Becky Harlan, Dr. John City Council Liason Russ Evans Hennette and Absent: Vice President Tim Trigg, Greencastle Schools Ex-Officio Member Jeff McCall and Putnam County Library Ex-Officio Member Margot Payne Also Present: Banner Graphic Editor Eric Bernsee, People Pathwaysy Yn arley, Park Maintenance Supervisor David Bault and Park&Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk Call to Order The monthly Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners was called to order at 7: by President L.Hanson in the Greencastle City Hall council room. 18 p.m. Introductions President L.Hanson introduced new City Council member and Park Board Liaison Russ Evans to the other board members. ON Approval of Minutes On a motion from J.Hennette, second by B.Harlan the minutes of the Regular M held on Thursday, December 4, 2003 were approved as presented. All Ayes. eeting Monthly Claims & Invoices On a motion from B.Harlan, seconded by J.Hennette, the monthly claims and invoices were approved as presented. All Ayes. Public Input: Questions Concerns, Statement—None Park Board Retreat President L.Hanson updated the board on the meeting dates for the board's annual retreat playing discussions. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 21 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Greencastle Parks & Recreation Department office. The second meeting will be held at the Greencastle City Hall from 7:00-8:00 with board discussion and from 8:00-9:00 p.m. with the City Council. Friends Of The Park, Special Projects, and Old Business A. Big Walnut Sports Park 1. Maintenance Plan—R.Weinschenk reminded everyone that maintenance responsibilities for Big Walnut Sports Park began on January 1st. He stated that park Maintenance Supervisor D.Bault and he will be trimming trees at BWSP this next week. r � r page--p ge two 2. Rokicki Community Park Master Plan-President L.Hanson informed the board that R.Weinschenk and she met with Terry Killen, Gove Assoc.,in regards to the master plan. T.Killen will present the final draft at our meeting on Wednesday,February 4,2004. New Business 2003-2007 Master Plan—President L.Hanson informed the other members of the board that during our upcoming retreat sessions,one goal is to gather information to update the current master plan for the department. Many changes have happened since wge submitted the plan,with Maple Berry Park,Rokicki Community Park and Big Walnut Sports Park.
