Public Encouraged to Attend Police Task Force Input Session
Leesburg, VA (June 21, 2022) – Members of the public are invited to attend an input session to
provide feedback on recommendations made by the Leesburg Police Citizen Task Force.
Established by the Leesburg Town Council in July 2021, the task force is made up of Town
residents with backgrounds and expertise in law enforcement and legal services. Their goal was
to explore the potential creation of an advisory commission for the Leesburg Police
Department. Their recommendations were presented to the Town Council in April 2022
following several months of meetings.
The next step is to receive public input. The session will take place during the Town Council’s
regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 28, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Town Hall Council
Chambers. A copy of the task force’s final report from April 2022 will be available in the
council’s agenda packet, which will be posted online by Wednesday, June 22.
