April Report
Tennis League: We have received three registration forms for the adult league. I spoke
with Sally Martin, Assistant Tennis Coach at Greencastle High School, and she passed
out additional fliers to parents at matches. Additionally, I mailed out 71 fliers to area
residents. The deadline for registration was Tuesday, May 3`d
Game Night: This program has not been very successful despite the news releases, and
help from the Gathering Grounds. On the average there are usually only four people who
attend.
April Showers Bring May Flowers: This toddler program was held Thursday, April 29th
at the Gathering Grounds. There were nine children who attended with a parent. The
program fee was $4.00 per child. Supplies cost $20.25.
Scrapbooking 101: This all ages program will be held on two different days: May 6th at
9:00 a.m. or May 12th at 6:30 p.m. After we see which one is better attended, we will set
up the three other types of scrapbooking classes we have to offer. The instructor for the
program is Heidi Warren. The fee for the program is $15.00 per person which includes
supplies.
Possible Upcoming Programs:
1) Spring Skatepark Program: I've e-mailed Michael Gage to see if he would be
interested in teaching this class. We would like to teach children etiquette, safety
and techniques while in the Skatepark. This program will last approximately two
hours, on a Saturday and there will be a program fee of$10.00 per person.
2) We are in the stages of setting up a Turf Cutter Workshop. This program would
Teach individuals, ages 11 and over safety, maintenance and proper use of lawn
mowers. I will be contacting Midland Implement, Humphrey's and Dixie
Chopper to see if they would like to bring mowers and offer information.
Greencastle's Safety Inspector, John Mcpherson, has already agreed to talk about
safety while mowing. This program will be on a Saturday in the morning in
Robe-Ann Park.
In addition, I also created a design for our S.P.A.R.K. t-shirts, helped David mow at Big
Walnut Sports Park, helped interview possible lifeguards and daily office work.
