African American Genealogy Class to Be Held at Thomas Balch
Library
Leesburg, VA (July 26, 2022) – Lori Kimball will teach “African American Genealogy” on
Thursday, August 4 in the lower level meeting room at Thomas Balch Library, 20 8 W. Market
Street, in Leesburg, beginning at 10 a.m.
During the two-hour class, Kimball will discuss resources available at Thomas Balch Library,
Loudoun County Courthouse, and repositories throughout the country, and using online
resources.

Lori Kimball works in the Historic Records Division at Loudoun County Courthouse. She is a
member of the Black History Committee of Friends of the Thomas Balch Library, co-researcher of
the Enslaved Community of President James Monroe, and researcher of the enslaved community
at Oatlands.
