HomeMy Public PortalAboutNovember 18 2004 Special Session Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners Meeting Minutes of the Special Board Meeting Thursday, November 18, 2004 Present: President Leslie Hanson, Vice President Tim Trigg, Secretary tary Dr. John Hennette, and Becky Harlan Absent: City Council Liaison Russ Evans, Greencastle School Board Ex-Officio Member Barry Fisher and Putnam County Library Ex-Officio Member Margot Payne Also Present: Parks&Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk Call to Order The regular meeting of the Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President L.Hanson in the Greencastle City Hall council room. Public Input-None Approval of Special Claims &Invoices A special claim for a pool party refund for Deer Meadow School was authorized on a motion from B.Harlan, seconded by T.Trigg. All Ayes. Spiker Excavating Hired to Construct Skatepark Parking Area R.Weinschenk presented a document outlining the three quotes received for the project. Upon review and on a motion from T.Trigg, seconded by J.Hennette, Board President L.Hanson received authorization to enter into a contract with Spiker Excavating to construct a parking area between the skatepark and shelter#2 located in Robe-Ann Park in the amount of$11,599.50. All Ayes. New Utility Tractor Purchase R.Weinschenk reviewed with the board the need for a new utility tractor. A new tractor will replace the existing Kubota tractor which is in the shop for repairs. Approximately $3,000 in parts is needed,plus labor, for this 1978 piece of equipment which is a city hand-me-down passed through two other city departments. Weinschenk is recommending the Kubota tractor from Humphrey's Outdoor Power. The park board approved the purchase if cash can be proved to Teresa Glenn,City Clerk Treasurer, on a motion from T.Trigg,seconded by J.Hennette. All Ayes. The invoice and claim are to be submitted on the December claims. Adjournment Upon a motion from T.Trigg, seconded by J.Hennette,the park board meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m. All ayes.
