Minutes of the Special Meeting
December 2, 2005
Present: President Leslie Hanson,Vice President Tim Trigg,Becky Harlan,and Council
Liaison Russ Evans
Absent: Secretary Dr. John Hennette,Putnam County Library Ex-Officio Member
Margot Payne and Greencastle Community Schools Ex-Officio Member Barry
Fisher
Also Present: Parks&Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk
Call to Order
The special meeting of the Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners was called to order at 4:35
p.m.by President L.Hanson in the Council Room of Greencastle City Hall,Greencastle.
Public Input—None
Claims-A special claim authorizing payment to Obsidian Screen Graphics for youth basketball
program t-shirts was approved on a motion from B.Harlan, second by L.Hanson. Tim Trigg
abstained due to conflict.
Memorial Park Dedication—President L.Hanson informed the board that she has been
contacted by a citizen and Mayor Nancy Michael about creating a memorial park dedication in
memory of Mary Fields,who recently passed away. Mrs. Fields lived next door to city hall a'
was very active in the community. Her friends would like to turn the green area next to city
into a park in her memory.
After some discussion, it was felt that following a presentation,the park board would
request. It was also noted that the group would have to make a proposal to the Gree'
Council for release of the area for a park.
Adjournment
Following no other business,L.Hanson reminded everone of the board's reg'
scheduled for Wednesday evening,December 7,2005 at 7:00 p.m. On a rr
second by B.Harlan,the special meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. Al'
