Memorandum of Understanding between Florida A&M University (FAMU), College of Pharmacy,
Crestview Education Center, Crestview, Florida and Robert L. F. Sikes Public Library

This memorandum is initiated as a request for permission from the Robert L. F. Sikes Public Library in
Crestview, Florida for student pharmacists admitted to Florida A&M University in Crestview to use its
facilities for:
Computer use
Florida A&M University (FAMU) would like to obtain permission to place a laptop computer in the library
for access by the College of Pharmacy students as well as library patrons for reference use. FAMU
laptop will be clearly identified as FAMU property. FAMU will replace and/or repair its laptop when
necessary.FAMU students will have priority usage of the computer at all times. No fee will be charged to
use the computer. While in the Robert L. F. Sikes library, students will be subject to the library rules and
regulations. Sign -in access codes will be provided by the College IT personnel to the library for database
use by FAMU students and library patrons doing research.
Public use of the library
Whereas Florida A&M University already has a library at the Crestview Education Center, and whereas
students may desire to use the Robert L. F. Sikes library to work on their research, literature search
and/or to study, Florida A&M University is requesting permission for its students to use the open areas
and/or study rooms in the library for such activities. Students who wish to check out library resources will
be subject to the same rules and regulations set by the library for public users of its resources.
Nothing in this memorandum is intended to be contrary to State and Federal laws. In the event of conflict
between terms of this agreement and any applicable State and Federal law, that State and Federal law
will supersede the terms of this agreement.
Periodic reviews of this memorandum will be conducted under the auspices of the College of Pharmacy.
This Memorandum of Understanding may be terminated by either party upon written notice to the other
60 days in advance of the next academic year.
