AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FOR A COMPUTER
LEARNING CENTER IN THE THOMAS J. DEVERIN
COMMUNITY CENTER AND LIBRARY
WHEREAS, U1e Borough of Carterct (the "Borough") is in need of assistance in
establishingaComputcr Learning Center within the, Borough's Thomas J. Deverin
CommUnity çenter and Library; aod
\VHEREAS, this, addition wQuld enhance the Borough's education resources for
residents and visitors of all ages; and
\VI-IEREAS, the Computer Leaming Center \-vin serve as a resource for learning,
providing World Wide Web access and a variety of useful software applications, and will
also be the site of various computer training classes; and
'WHEREAS, the Borough wishes to make an application to the State of New Jersey for a
grant in the amount of $20,000.00 for the above referenced improvements.
NO'V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough of Carteret, County of
Middlesex, that the Governing Body hereby approves the application for a grant for the
'. Borough's Computer Learning Center in-the Thomas J. Deverin Community Center and
Library as detailed herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate '"Borough officiaIs are herby
authorized to entcr into -and/or execute any and all Grant Agreement and/or similar
documents in furtherance of the grant application detailed herein.
