AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR THE MINUE STREET, POST
BOULEV ARlJ,ROOSEVELT A VENUE INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTGRM,T
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough'}is in need of assistance with the
constructiOI1 of much needed roadway and traffic signal improvements at the intersection
ofMinue Street, Post Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue-in West Carterct; and
WHEREAS, the current intersection and traffic signal system is antiquated and operates
at an unacceptable level ofseri'ice; and
\VHEREAS, the project will and drarÙatically increase the safety of the traveling public
who must pass tmough this intersection on a daily basis; and
\VHEREA.S, the Borough wishes to make an application to the State o[New Jersey for a
grant in the amounto[$3Óü,üüü.OÓ f01' the above referenced improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough of Carteret, County of
Middlesex, that the Governing Body hereby approves the application for the grant for tbe
'. Minue Street, Post Boulevard, and Roosevelt Avenue traffic and. signal improvements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appropriate Borough offitialsareherby
authorized to enter into and/or_cxecute any -and all Grànt Agreement and/or similar
documents in furtherance 'ofthe grant application detailed herein.
