McCall City Council
Special Public Workshop on 2004 Budget
July 16, 2003
7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Mayor Colton called the special Council Budget Workshop to order at 1:00 p.m.
Mayor Colton, Council Member Arp, Council Member Muller, and Council Member
Eimers answered roll call. A quorum was present. City staff members present
were City Manager Robert Strope, Community Development Director Lindley
Kirkpatrick, Public Works Director Bill Keating, Liz Tash, Chief Ralph Appa,
Nancy Lockhart, Librarian Anne Kantola, Recreation Director Brock Heasley,
David Simmons, Amanda Townsend, Golf Supervisor Dan Pi!lard, and Finance
Director & City Clerk Barbara Bauer.
BUSINESS
City Manager Robert Strope gave an overview of the process used in creating the
budget this year and the steps that still need to occur. His presentation is contained in
attachments provided to Council Members.
There were 13 citizens plus staff members and media at the public budget workshop on
7/15/03 and the City has received 4 comments from the website posting of the budget
information.
Department heads provided detailed information on their budgets and answered
questions from the Council. A brief discussion was held on the need to take the
allowable 3% tax increase this year. Council members will provide the City Manager
with their recommendations so they can be posted on the web site prior to the public
budget hearing.

The Council also set a date to hold a public meeting on the future of the Golf Course on
Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. The location is to be determined.
ADJOURNMENT
Without further business, Council Member Eimers moved to adjourn. Council
Member Muller seconded the motion. All Council Members voted aye. The
motion carried. The Council adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
