In attendance: Committee Members: Bonnie Roy,Glenda Downs, Bill Pomeroy, Jane Peno, Pete Howerton,Ingrid
Moyer, Dave Hubbard,Lisa Scapellati. Also in attendance: Friends of the Fourth member: Kathy Mead, Former
Committee Members: Susan Alman, Susan Christie. Absent: Chamber of Commerce Liaison: Sally Tucker,
Selectboard Liaison: Margie Fulcher. Also in attendance Parade Volunteer: Wally Swidlak.
The meeting was called to order at 5:00pm
The minutes of the June 17, 2010 and the June 24, 2010 meetings were unanimously approved.
1. Friends of the Fourth
• Kathy Mead reported that the Friends have received a wonderful response from their mailing,
$15,000, and that there will be enough money for the Fireworks for 2011. 5he also reported
that the jars put out at Friends Market are doing well.
• Kathy also reported that we will have one active duty Army National Guardsman in the Parade.
Bonnie will make poster signs to go on the truck that will accompany him.
2'. Budget
• There are no new monies to the gift account.
3. Trophies
• Ingrid reported that she has the trophies in hand. They cost slightly over $100.00, a great
reduction in cost from previous years.
4 Parade
• We now have 52 "float" entries in the Parade
• Our Committee Float is all set. Bonnie has completed the banner to be carried, in the lead, by
Kathy Mead's grandson and a friend. Lisa has made banners for the sides of Pete's truck. Rick
Moyer will drive the truck and will have a big bucket in the front to empty the little buckets
into.
• We did not have any volunteers attend (those collecting along with the Committee f loot)so it
was decided that the volunteer T-shirts would go into Pete's truck and Susan would let any
volunteers know what to do on parade day at OE5.
• We reviewed the decorating and taking off decorations, on band vehicles,at OE5. Glenda
volunteered to help take off decorations at the end of the Parade
• We decided that we did not need someone to direct at the intersection of Marston's way and
Eldredge at the end of the parade
• 5ue Christie will contact Carolyn Ward to see if she wants to present the Vt place general
award and she will also contact Ann Haubner about presenting the Haubner Award
• Susan Alman has a big bucket for the front of our "float truck"
• Bonnie will confirm with Chief Roy about 2 barricades at the Eldredge Park entrance to NRM5
• Sims McGrath will drive his convertible for the 5electboard
• We reviewed all of our signs - dignitary and directional - we are all set
• We did another review of the Parade Staging area at NRM5 as Bonnie said that she could use
some help checking in entrants. Lisa will come over as soon as she is set helping Justin and his
family with the fire truck decorations.
• Bonnie read some highlights that Margie and Paul Fulcher put together about Joe Reynolds.
5he will put it into a narrative to be read at the Awards Ceremony.
5. Fireworks
• Barricades will _go up on Friday (3rd) in front of the porta-potties
• Pete has the checks for the fireworks and the bands
• The fencing was put up earlier today with a crew that included Pete, Dave, Wally, Sully and his
son, George Tazinni,and Steve Downs.
• "Fireworks Area" signs will be put up Friday morning. We may need new signs that say
"pyrotechnics area" for next year.
• The clean-up crew will meet at Rock Harbor at 1:30 Saturday,July 3rd, to clean up the marsh
and beach from the fireworks shoot.

Orleans Town Hall
