HomeMy Public PortalAboutCouncil Minutes 2004 11/03MINUTES McCall City Council Regular Meeting Wednesday, November 3, 2004 Table of Contents Call to Order and Roll Call Business AB 04-171 Canvassing of Local Option Tax Election Results/Resolution 04-16 Adjournment CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Mayor Eimers called the regular meeting of the McCall City Council to order at 12:34 p.m. Mayor Eimers, Council Member Greer, and Council Member Bertram answered roll call. Council Members Robertson and Muller were excused. A quorum was present. City staff members present were Lindley Kirkpatrick, City Manager; and Dan Irwin, City Clerk. BUSINESS AGENDA AB 04-171 Canvassing of Local Option Tax Election Results/Resolution 04-16 Dan Irwin, City Clerk, presented the results of the November 2, 2004 Special Election for the Local Option Tax measure. A total of 1429 votes were cast in the McCall Precinct, with 1102 ballots in favor of the measure and 327 against. The vote tally in favor of the measure exceeds the 60 percent majority approval of voters required under Idaho Code to pass the measure; therefore the Local Option Tax is allowed to be implemented by the City. Council Member Greer moved to proclaim the election results final and adopt Resolution No. 04-16. Council Member Bertram seconded the motion. In a roll call vote, Mayor Eimers, Council Member Greer, and Council Member Bertram voted aye. The motion carried. Printed 11/19/2004 Page 1 of 2 November 3, 2004 City Council Minutes REPORTS Lindley Kirkpatrick, City Manager, stated that since there is only one regular City Council meeting in November and December, staff has historically paid for ordinary bills when they are due to avoid being assessed with late fees and Council has ratified payment on the Warrant Register at the next meeting. Mr. Kirkpatrick stated that unless the Council had any objections this procedure would be followed again this year. There were no objections by the Council Members. ADJOURNMENT Without further business, Mayor Eimers moved to adjourn. Council Member Greer seconded the motion. All Council Members voted aye. The motion carried.
