RESOLUTION NO. 94 -3324
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY ADOPTING A RULE OF PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and determines that it is common practice in this and other cities
to adopt routine motions by the so -called "no objection" method, i.e., where the Mayor, after stating the
motion made and seconded, asks whether there are any objections and, if none are so voiced, declares the
motion unanimously carried.
SECTION 2. The City Council further fmds and declares that such procedure is advantageous and
expedites meetings, thereby avoiding lengthy roll calls or voice votes.
SECTION 3. The City Council further finds and determines that each Councilmember who has
subscribed his/her name hereto consents to the rule herein set forth.
SECTION 4. The City Council, therefore, officially declares that every Councilmember consents to
said "no objection" method of adopting motions, and further agrees that failure to raise an objection at the
proffered time shall be construed to be, and shall be entered upon the Minutes as a "yes" or affirmative
vote on the motion.
SECTION 5. Any Councilmember may in writing rescind the authority granted hereby.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 19th day of April, 1994.
