8th annual airshow will take to the skies over Leesburg Executive Airport on
Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Leesburg, VA (September 5, 2017) – On
Saturday, September 30, 2017, the
Leesburg Executive Airport (1001 Sycolin
Road SE) will host the 8th annual Leesburg
Airshow from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
There is a requested donation of $3.00
per person or $5.00 per family.
Primary parking locations for the airshow
are at Tuscarora High School (825 North
King Street) and Heritage High School
(520 Evergreen Mill Road SE).
Complimentary shuttles will run
continuously from 10:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. There will be no general parking at the airport.
Airport parking will be reserved for guests who require accessible options. A DMV-issued permit
must be displayed in order to park at the airport.
Gates for the airshow will open at 11:00 a.m. The airshow’s static display area, located on the
airport’s parking ramp, always features a variety of experimental and antique aircraft. The T-6
Texan, a glider from the M-ASA Glider Club and the Diamond DA-62 are just a few of this year’s
must-see static displays. Other tarmac attractions include aviation-related displays, exhibits,
inflatables for the kids, and a wide variety of food vendors.
Prior to the main show, at 12:00 p.m., there will be a demonstration of radio-controlled aircraft.
Beginning at 1:00 p.m., the skies above Leesburg will come alive with daring aerobatic
performances. Featured performers include Dan Marcotte flying his Ultimate Biplane and
racing his jet car down the runway, Scott Francis demonstrating thrilling aerobatics in his MXS,
along with performances by members of the Flying Circus, a wing walker, and the
Commemorative Air Force’s National Capital Squadron. This year’s airshow will once again be
narrated by Hugh Oldham who has performed in and announced at airshows for more than 30
