INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into this 1314^ day of AttAu.s*
2018, by and between the City of Crestview, Florida, a political subdivision of the State of Florida,
hereinafter referred to as "CRESTVIEW", and the "CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, a
political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as "FORT WALTON", both of
which understand and agree as follows:
WHEREAS, the one CRESTVIEW employee certified to perform the duties of building
official has submitted his resignation and will be separating from the employment of
CRESTVIEW on August 17, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto have the common power to employ a building official who
is certified by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to perform plan review,
inspections and issue certificates of occupancy pursuant to Chapter 468, F.S., within their
geographic jurisdictions; and.
WHEREAS, CRESTVIEW desires to contract with FORT WALTON for these
requirements imposed by Chapter 468, F.S. which duties to be performed by the building official
and/or the building inspector on an as needed basis for the interim period of time necessary to fill
the building official position for CRESTVIEW, not to exceed six months; and,
WHEREAS, FORT WALTON is agreeable to providing these services under the terms and
conditions hereinafter set forth.
WITNESSETH:
The purpose of this agreement is for FORT WALTON to provide the following services to
CRESTVIEW in the manner hereinafter set forth:
1. FORT WALTON will provide, through the FORT WALTON Public Works Building
Department, duties of building official and/or building inspector, pursuant to Chapter 468, F.S.
originating within CRESTVIEW S jurisdiction.
2. CRESTVIEW is designated as the party to administer this agreement by and through the
Growth Management Director of CRESTVIEW and the FORT WALTON Public Works Director
or his designee.
3. CRESTVIEW shall make payment on demand to FORT WALTON in the amount of
$48.33 per hour for Building Official and $25.32 per hour for Inspector, for the performance of the
services called for herein.
4. FORT WALTON, its officers and employees shall not be deemed to assume any liability
or responsibility to CRESTVIEW or any third party for errors, omissions or mistakes made as a
result of the review set forth in Chapter 468, F. S.
5. This Agreement shall become effective on the date the instrument is authenticated by
both parties and shall run for a period of six (6) months. Either party may choose to terminate the
service by issuing a 30-day written notice.
