AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF $120,423.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD AND
STREET FUND FOR SERVICES'CONTRACTED FOR RECONSTRUCTION"AND WIDENING OF FIFTH
STREET BETWEEN NORTH "A" AND MAIN STREETS; WIDENING OF INDUSTRIESROAD BETWEEN
OLD U.S. 35 AND THE RAILROAD TRACKS TO THE EAST -(OR THE CITY LIMITS): RECON
STRUCTION OF EXISTING MAJOR STREET (TOSCHLOG ROAD) BETWEEN- NATIONAL -ROAD WEST
AND THE CORPORATION"LINE: WIDENING AND REALIGNMENT OF"SOUTH "A" STREET BE-
TWEEN FOURTH AND FIFTH STREETS: AND THE INSTALLATION OF NEW"OVERHEAD TRAFFIC
SIGNALS AT THIRTEEN (13) INTERSECTIONS ON NORTH AND SOUTH "A" STREETS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 392, of the Acts of 1969, a Local Road and Street
Fund was established for the purpose of constructing and reconstructing arterial
roads within Cities and Towns.
WHEREAS, the Arterial Road and Street Board of the State of Indiana has approved
the sum of $120,423.00 for the above said projects.
WHEREAS, there is a need for these funds to do all those things necessary for
the above said projects.
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption
of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate
more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appro-
priated in the annual budget;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,
INDIANA:
SECTION 1. That for the expenses of City Government and its institutions for
the year ending December 31, 1970, the following amount of -money is hereby
appropriated and set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the said
stated projects listed above and below. Said sum being' subject to all laws
governing the same and such amount appropriated shall be held to include all
expenditures authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipu-
lated by law.
SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal
period, there is

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws
of the State of Indiana, governing emergency appropriations.
