RESOLUTION NO. 2019-026
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATES FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COST, OPENING OF
BIDS AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR THE STORM WATER
REHABILITATION PROJECTS
Whereas, Hart-Frederick Consultants PC, has prepared the Plans, Specifications and
Contract Documents for the construction of the Storm Water Rehabilitation Projects;
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa:
1. The date for the opening and public reading of bids for the Project is set for
April 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. and,
2. The date for the Public Hearing of the Project is set for April 16, 2019, at
7:00 p.m. and,
3. The date for consideration of bids f0i the [��)roject by the City Council is set at April
16, 2019, at 71,,00 P.M. and will be acted upon at such time and place or at such
time and place as may then be set.
4. That the City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to have published the Notice
of Hearing of the Contract DOCUlnents for the Project in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City, which publication shall be rnade at least once, not less than
four (4) and not more than twenty (20) days prior, to the date of the said hearing.
5. That the City Council hereby directs the City Clerk to have published the Notice
to Bidders of the bid letting for the Project by posting at least once, not less than
thirteen (13) and not more than forty-five (45) days prior to the date set for receipt
of bids, in each of the following three places: (i) in a relevant contractor plan room
service with statewide circulation; (ii) in a relevant construction lead generating
service with statewide circulation; and (iii) on an internet site sponsored by either
the City or a statewide association that represents the City.
On the 19th day of March, 2019, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Bartels introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2019-026, A RESOLUTION
SETTING THE DATES FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT AND ESTIMATE OF COST, OPENING OF
BIDS AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR THE STORM WATER
REHABILITATION PROJECTS and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by
Councilperson Schnedler.
Ayes: Havens, Upton, Schnedler, Bartels.
Nays: one.
Absent: Ryan.

Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner

thereto.
