1. Introductions:
Chairman Rycyk called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m., and a quorum was
present.
2. Adoption of the agenda:
Mr. Thomas moved and Mr. Thurnau seconded to adopt the agenda, motion
carried. Mr. Shorthose was absent for this vote.
3. Approval of the minutes:
Mr. Rackers moved and Mr. Thomas seconded to approve the minutes,
motion carried. Mr. Shorthose was absent for this vote.
4. Public Comment Opportunity:
June 13, 2022
None.
5. Invited Guests: Jennifer Kuchinsici, WSP and Bryan Gregory, Bartlett and
West. They explained that her company and Bartlett and West work on
aviation services. They are interested in providing their services for future
airport projects.
Will Sites, Lincoln University Professor-Drone Journalism. He explained he
would like to bring his students to the airport to talk with pilots and see what
the airport does in order for them to get an understanding of the importance of
drone safety.
6. Scheduled Reports:
a) Airport Manager’s Report
Mr. Bowers advised the ramp maintenance project will be getting the
markings on the centerline and will do the parking lot markings in house.
Mr. Bowers discussed traffic counts and advised 2021 was a record
setting year and had some of the busiest months since 2003.
b) FBO Report
Mr. Shorthose advised Jefferson City Flying Service flight school has been
busy. There is a need for training as more pilots are needed all over the
country.
c) Staff Liaison Report
Mr. Rycyk presented a certificate to Mr. Naught for his years of service on
the Committee and thanked him.
d) City Council Report
None.
7. Old Business
Chairman Rycyk asked if anyone knew if the plans for a Jefferson City Air
Show were still under way. Mr. Bowers explained they were still working
on funding for the event. There was discussion among Committee
members and those present regarding the funding and that many of the
current air shows are charging $50.00 per entry.
Chairman Rycyk asked Mr. Shorthose to invite the female flight
instructors, Gabrelle Gibson and Lea Komaromi to the next Committee
meeting.

motion carried.
