HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 94-33511 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 94 -3351 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY SUPPORTING THE "CONSENSUS APPROACH TO GROUNDWATER CLEANUP" WHEREAS, the San Gabriel Groundwater Basin has been declared a superfund site due to groundwater contamination; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City is concerned with achieving effective groundwater cleanup of the Basin as a local water source; and WHEREAS, the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority ( "WQA ") has proposed a "Consensus Approach" solution to the Baldwin Park Operable Unit; and WHEREAS, the Council believe the Consensus Approach will be effective to achieve a groundwater cleanup solution, avoid costly litigation an protect the local economy. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. To support and approve the WQA Consensus Approach to groundwater cleanup and memorializes the USEPA, all potentially responsible parties, and all San Gabriel Valley water institutions to endorse the Consensus Approach for implementation with respect to the Baldwin Park Operable Unit. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
