Special Park Use Requests
Building off of last month's proposal by Ted Kissel to create mountain bike trails at
Jaycee Park, cycling enthusiast Tom Standers from the Greencastle Cycling Club
requested permission to design and create multi-use trails at Jaycee Park for not only
mountain bike interests, but for Cyclo-Cross, running
enthusiasts, as
Mr. Standers was supported in the audience by members ofththe Greencastle Cy ling
Club, Greencastle Running and Fitness Club, and an area Geocacher's Club. g
Mr. Standers stated that he and John Paul, Christina Paul, Steve Williamson and Ted
Kissel met with Director R.Weinschenk and formed the Jaycee Park Trails Committee.
They have recruited a number of volunteers from organizations with as many as 190
members who could all lend a hand on future work days. With a pool of this many
volunteers, a multi-use trail could be laid out and cleared in a weekend. This group will
