6. SIDEWALK INSTALLATION PROGRAM - Fiscal Year 72 -73
Olive, Arden, Broadway and Garibaldi
City Manager Koski recommended an amendment to the specifi-
cations for the construction of the foregoing sidewalks where
property owners had requested that the installation be made
adjacent to the curb rather than adjacent to the property
line. City specifications call for a wider sidewalk, 5'
when adjacent to the curb, rather than 4' when constructed
adjacent to the property line. In order to keep the project
within the funds available, City Manager Koski recommended
that the specifications be modified to provide for a 42'
sidewalk adjacent to the curb which would result in a lesser .
cost to the City and not adversely affect the overall utility
of the sidewalk.
Council requested that further investigation be made as to
the feasibility of relocating utility poles from the middle
of the proposed sidewalk installation.
