RESOLUTION NO. 94 -3378
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY ESTABLISHING RULES CONCERNING ENDORSEMENTS,
DISAPPROVALS OR OTHER ACTION ON BALLOT MEASURES OR
CANDIDATES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council is from time to time called upon to endorse or oppose ballot
measures and candidates that appear on ballots, involving matters other than those placed on the ballot
by the City Council or those pertaining solely to Temple City; and
WHEREAS, this City Council feels that the City Council should not favor the political activism
of one group of citizens over the viewpoint of another group with regard to such matters, especially when
full information on this subject matter is often not immediately available to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council shall not support or oppose any measure or candidate which is
on (or will be on) any official ballot called under the election laws of the state of California or any agency
thereof, except those relating exclusively to the City of Temple City.
SECTION 2. Such restriction shall not apply to lobbying any agency on matters not related to
a future ballot issue; nor shall such restriction apply to the support or opposition of individual
councilpersons on such matters.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution, Resolution No. 94 -3378 was duly adopted by the City
Council of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 1st day of November, 1994, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmember-Gillanders, Souder, Wilson, Breazeal, Budds
NOES: Councilmember -None
ABSENT: Councilmember -None
