RESOLUTION NO. 94 -3381
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR SB 821 FUNDS AND
AFFIRMATION OF THE CITY'S MASTER SIDEWALK PLAN
INCLUDING INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALKWHEELCHAIRACCESS
RAMPS PURSUANT TO THE 1990 FEDERAL AMERICANS WITH
DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
WHEREAS, SB 821 requires 2 percent of each County's annual local transportation funds be set
aside and used for the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the ADA requires certain pedestrian facilities improvements to provide appropriate
and safe access for disabled persons; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has adopted a master sidewalk plan and ADA transition plan
which includes provisions for disabled persons sidewalk access in accordance with the ADA; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City intends to utilize existing and future SB 821 funds to
construct new sidewalk wheelchair access ramps.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. To affirm adoption of the master sidewalk plan including provisions for disabled
persons access.
SECTION 2. To apply for all available SB 821 funds for which the City is eligible.
SECTION 3. To authorize the City Manager to approve and sign all applicable documents.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
