HomeMy Public PortalAbout2021-04-27 minutes1 MINUTES CITY OF JEFFERSON BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS & REVIEW April 27, 2021 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mike Lage Brent Haas Nick Vieth Jeremy Wilhelm MEMBERS ABSENT: Brent Streeter COUNCIL LIAISON ABSENT: Ron Fitzwater STAFF PRESENT: Richard Hunt, Plumbing Inspector Matt Kreyling, Building Official CALL TO ORDER The Board of Plumbing Examiners & Review met April 27th, 2021, in the Boone Bancroft Conference Room at the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Richard Hunt, Plumbing Inspector, at 5:05 p.m. A quorum was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE December 8th, 2020 MEETING A motion was made by Brent Haas and seconded by Mike Lage to approve the minutes of the December 8th, 2020 meeting. Motion passed by show of hands. REVIEW LICENSE APPLICATION • A motion was made by Mike Lage and seconded by Jeremy Wilhelm to approve Matthew Welshmeyer to receive his Journeyman’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Mike Lage and seconded by Brent Haas to approve Michael Brown to receive his Journeyman’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Nick Vieth and seconded by Jeremy Wilhelm to approve Eric Birdsong to receive his Journeyman’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Brent Haas and seconded by Nick Vieth to approve Justin Raithel to receive his Master’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Mike Lage and seconded by Jeremy Wilhelm to approve Joseph McFerron to receive his Master’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. 2 • A motion was made by Jeremy Wilhelm and seconded by Mike Lage to approve Aaron Sandbothe to receive his Master’s license. Motion passed by a show of hands. NEW BUSINESS Nick Vieth asked the board to reconsider the practice of requiring copper to be required when water lines are stubbed thru the wall or floor to later be connected to fixtures. After discussion the board approved the use of pex pipe. OLD BUSINESS The board members were given information on the changes that were made to the 2015 International Plumbing Code, by the City and the changes from the 2015 to the 2018 plumbing code to review before the next Plumbing Board meeting. SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING The Plumbing Examiners & Review Board’s next meeting date is yet to be determined. ADJOURNMENT With no further business, a motion was made by Brent Haas and seconded by Mike Lage to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed by show of hands.
