Adjournment Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners Minutes of the Special Meeting Monday, March 29, 2021 Present: President Cathy Merrell, Vice President Tim Trigg, Secretary Joanna Muncie (virtually) and Pete Meyer Absent: Greencastle Community School Corporation liaison Brittany Labhart, Putnam County Public Library liaison David Taylor Also Present: City Council Member David Murray, Mayor Bill Dory, Banner Graphic Reporter Eric Bernsee, and Parks & Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk Call to Order The regular meeting of the regular meeting of the Board of Park Commissioners was called to order on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. by Park Board President Cathy Merrell. The meeting was held in the common council meeting room of Greencastle City Hall. It should be noted the regular meeting of the Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners was held in the City Hall Council Room and offered virtual attendance by Zoom • conference call in conformance to the Governor's directives on "Social Distancing". Public Input -None Approval of Aquatics Center Change Orders 1. Mammoth, Inc. a. Installation Sponsorship Plaque on Band Shelter — After discussion, the installation of the sponsorship plaque on the new band shelter at $560.75 was approved on a motion from T.Trigg, second by P.Meyer. All Ayes. b. Installation of 2 Overhead Door Stops - After discussion, the installation of the two overhead door stops on the storage room and family changing room doors was at $606.38 approved on a motion from J.Muncie, second by T.Trigg. All Ayes. c. Installation of Aluminum Duct Work — After discussion, installing aluminum duct work to match what is already installed in the HVAC system instead of galvanized at $3,009.30 was approved on a motion from P.Meyer, second by J.Muncie. All Ayes. d. Potential Change Orders — Director R.Weinschenk explained that the potential change orders in regards to the floor leveling demolition work and roof repair was not included on this change order, however we could expect them. 2. Boyle Construction Management Inc — Because it was listed as an alternate when 0 bid, the three interactive features to be installed in the shallow end beach have not been ordered, so Director R.Weinschenk requested permission from the park board to do so. The three interactive features include a Bobble No. 2, Helio No. 4 and the Twinsplash at a fee of$32,004.50 which is less than the original $38,200 as listed on the bid form. After discussion, approval was given to order the three features on a motion from T.Trigg, second by J. Muncie. All Ayes. 3. Approval to Sign Paperwork — To clarify proceedings and on a motion by J.Muncie, second by T.Trigg, park board president C.Merrell was authorized to sign all paperwork in regards to the change orders. All Ayes. Other Business Compliment Received - Director R.Weinschenk passed on a compliment to the board which was received from a patron to Robe-Ann Park while he was giving a tour of the park to National Night Out organizers Linda Merkel and Police Chief Tom Sutherlin. A patron, stated she and her family travel in from Indianapolis once a week and spend the day at Robe-Ann Park. They pack a picnic meal, walk in the park and play at the Emerald Palace Playground and they really enjoy the beautiful park. If that wasn't compliment enough, she added that they were looking at relocating to the Greencastle area, because of the facilities they've been able to enjoy. Next Regular Meeting I/ Director R.Weinschenk reminded the park board that our next regular meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Adjournment The monthly park board meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m. on a motion from T.Trigg, second by P.Meyer. All Ayes Minutes respectfully submitted by: Roderick M.
