Attendees: Eric McCormick, Patil Stover, Ken Stearns, Allan Morrison (via phone), Kristin
Christensen, Roger Snodgrass, Rita Bolli-Neal
Rita made a motion to approve the February minutes. Kristin seconded the motion. The motion
passed, and the minutes were approved and signed.
Eric's Report: With the return of winter weather, all the greens have a heavy coating of snow. The
two seasonal employees have been working on stripping and power coating the tee markers. The
John Deere mower/snow blower that broke down has been in the shop for repairs. The restaurant
continues to be busy. The wood stove is still scheduled to be replaced with a two-sided fireplace. At
the end of February, 1239 pounds of dog poop had been left in the receptacles, but there is still a lot
left on the course. The attendance at the golf shows in Spokane and Seattle was somewhat
disappointing.
Allan 's Report: The scorecards are at the printers. All pro-shop staff have been hired.
Election of Officers: Roger nominated Rita for the position of chairperson. He also nominated Kristin
as the vice-chair /secretary. Ken seconded those nominations. The two ladies were elected. They will
take over at the May meeting.
Old Business: Eric gave an update regarding last month's discussion about water coolers on the
course. The coolers will still be in use except the one located near the snack shack. In addition to the
coolers, water /soda vending machines will be situated at three places. Paul suggested setting up
areas where players could phone orders into the restaurant. Eric will discuss this idea with the
restaurant owner.
As part of National Volunteer Week, McCall has scheduled a volunteer appreciation breakfast on
April 3. Those planning to attend need to RSVP by this Friday, March 17.
Roger voiced concerns about the condition of several cart paths. Eric explained that the splitting that
is so visible is the result of ground freezing . Eric feels/hopes that the paths will come back together
once the ground thaws. Some patching may be needed at that time. Roger suggested taking pictures
of the damaged paths for future LOT discussions.
Kristin asked if a designated smoking area(s) had been established. At this time, the answer was "no".
New Business: The new City Manager, Anette Spickard, gave the group information about McCall's
Local Option Tax. The current taxation period ends this December. The city will be asking voters for a
ten-year extension. That vote will take place on May 15. The ballot will also contain revised language
regarding how LOT money can be used. The funds must provide a "considerable" contribution to all
citizens . Future applicants for LOT funds must plead their case to the LOT Commission.
Rita suggested we look into the idea of placing a camera and speaker near the Cedar #1 tee box .
. The next meeting is April 11 at 6:00 p.m. Scheduled topic is "Development of physical facilities, major
alterations and permanent improvements to the McCall Golf Course ".
Meeting was adjourned. 4 d ~~ ~)11 ~
