Jordan moved, 'idmeier seconded:To grant M.M.Brown a permit to build a frame residence to be covered with stucco and the roof to have asbestes shingles to conform with the Town ordances. Motion carried Anderson m ved,Sa den seconded:To a -l.j ourn. Mot ion Clerk Adjourned Meeting carried. April 7 1938 The meeting was called to order to consider the appointments of the Mayors co r i ttees and the town officers. Anderson,Jordan,Sanden,Tinker,Venable and Widmaier,present. Minutes of the regular meeting and adjourned meetings od April 5 were read and approved. Dr.Anderson read an articles on the duties of the board and officers. There were two anrlicaticns for Park Supt. C. C. 'heeler and. Hans Pearson. it was left to the Park Comm. to make the appointments at the same wages. Sanden moved,Anderson seconded:To accept the application of C.A.Brayton as Police Magistrate.Motion o:arried. Venable moved,Sanden seconded:Tc appoint H.B.Smith. as Town Clerk and Water Supt.at the present salary.Mction carried. Tinker.moved,Jcrdan seconded:To hire Geo.Mac Kenzie as marshal at the present salary.Motion carried. Applications of C.E.Hubard and F.E.Nusbaum as night marshal were read. Andersen moved,Tinker seconded:Tc retain F.E.Nusbaum as night m m arse a.l .Motion carried. An application of A.W.Bever was read for the Cemetery Supt.was left to the Cemetery committee to decide what they were to pay and who they were to hire. Jordan moved,Sanden seconded:To '.ire Dr.Anderson as health officer. Motion carried. This tc be at the salary of g 15.00 per mo. Ande son moved,Venable seconded:To appoint Wm.Kelly as town attorney and pay for services rendered.Motion carried. It was made known that all appointments were made at the will and pleasure of the board. Members present:Anderson,Jordan,Tinker,Venable & Sanden.Widmaier absent Adjourned meeting minutes of April 7 were read and approved as re ad. . There was some discussion about draining the water that was stand- ing the street near the Woods property.C.H.Frye and J.I.Woods said they would give enough land on their line to put in a cement trough to the alley.The water would go from there in an open ditch along the alley and then trough Mr.Gorai property to the street below. Tinker.moved,Anderson seconded:To instruct the clerk and the S.& A. Committee tohave a cement ditch through between the Woods and Frye property, and across the alley. Mot' on carried. Prices of a Layne Turbine pump were given by Mr. Carlson of Denver and a letter from Herring & Repp of Greeley gave the price on a Pamona pump.There was only about g 4.00 difference between the prices. The matter of changing the pumps was to be looked up by the board before purchasing any pump. State Tax Division asked that the clerk report any venders who might be evading the law about sales tax. The clerk was insructed to grade in the ditch in the alley behind Mr.Molanders residence. Anderson moved,Jordan seconded:To disignate May 16,17,18 as Clean- up days.Motion carried. Anderson moved,Jordan seconded:To ask the Continental Oil Co.to level the sidewalk in front of their filling station as it was dangerous in wet weather. Motion carried. A petition asking that a special election be held to vote for or against the sale of malt,vinious add spiritious liquors was read by the clerk,This matter was left until the next meeting.
