Leesburg Partners with Knights of Columbus to Collect
“Sweats for Vets”
Collections will be accepted until December 22 and delivered to the Martinsburg
VA Medical Center in January.
Leesburg, VA (November 14, 2017) – The Town of Leesburg is partnering with the Knights of
Columbus to collect sweatsuits to be donated to in-patients at the Veterans Affairs (VA)
Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Collection boxes will be located at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, Ida Lee Tennis Center,
Town Hall, the Leesburg Police Department, Thomas Balch Library, and the Leesburg Executive
Airport beginning on Monday, November 20, 2017. Sweats will be accepted through Friday,
December 22, 2017. Donation guidelines are:
New sweatshirts and sweatpants only. Matching sets preferred.
All sizes accepted, but there is greater need for sizes L, XL, and XXL.
Sweats should not be gift-wrapped.
If desired, include a label with the name of the donor (ind ividual or organization).
The Knights of Columbus will collect the donations, gift wrap them and deliver to the
Martinsburg VA Medical Center on January 20, 2018.
According to Sweats for Vets chair David Tilton, this year’s goal is to collect 800 sets of sweats.
