SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is soliciting applications for 319 grants which are
designed to assist communities with lake and river protection and restoration activities. The
proposed project involves the installation of a BMP pond on City property near Railroad Ave. and
improvements related to stormwater drainage near Stibnite Ave. The Alpine Village and
Woodsman developments are required to address stormwater drainage issues relating to their
proposed developments and have indicated to staff willingness to partner with the City on the 319
project. Cost estimates for the total project are being determined by CH2M Hill. Local match will
be in the form of construction of the BMP pond (Alpine Village), City land easement for the pond,
and construction of the stormwater pipe or other on-site improvements at the Woodsman site.
Grant funds would be used for planning and design costs, hydrodynamic separators, and any
other related construction costs.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of 319 grant and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
