SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Applicants qualify for the Utility Hardship Rate for the April 30 to April 30 period under MCC 6-4-250:
1. Their income earned is within the Federal Poverty Guidelines (per attached).
2. Proof of income in the form of Federal and State Income Tax returns.
3. Proof of physician’s statements documenting inability to work.
4. A statement verifying no other income.
5. A statement verifying net worth.
6. Completed application.
The hardship qualification would reduce the customer’s base water rate from:
$38.70/mo. To $22.50/mo. = $16.20/mo. X 12 months = $194.40 for the period 4/30/07 to 4/30/08
Documents verifying the above are attached, and per MCC 6-4-250 “personal identifying information,
including service location”, has been redacted. The full, unredacted file is available for Council review, in
the City Clerk’s office as of 5/31/07
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Utility Hardship Application.
