SUMMARY STATEMENT:
(1) Tom Lay, Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc., will present a status report,
and answer questions regarding the project initiated under the City-NHS MOU executed on 7/3/06
(MOU, Ground Lease, and Contract for Services, attached).
(2) Landscaping- the Council was provided a memo from Carol Coyle and preliminary quote for
landscaping costs (Copies attached).
(3) The Project Development Fees, per the MOU, Exhibit A, are clearly defined in the City-NHS
MOU: “NHS will receive a developer fee of no less than 15% of the total costs for each project”.
The MOU did not cap the project developer fee. The City Treasurer will audit the financial
statements of NHS by the 7-12-07 Council meeting and will determine the projected Project
Development Fees the NHS will take for this project. The projected developer fee, and status report
from Tom Lay, will instruct the Council as to the viability of additional projects, and the terms the
Council would like to see in any future projects.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive the status report, and provide input for the completion of the NHS-VARHA project.
