SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Alpine Village and The Woodsman will be burying all overhead utilities adjacent to their projects. That
work will leave one block, between Washington Street and Colorado Street, with overhead utilities. Staff
has worked with Idaho Power and Frontier to develop the attached work orders to bury the overhead
utilities in that block. The cost for Idaho Power’s work will be $112,215. Frontier has agreed to place their
lines underground at no cost to the City.
Franchise fees are collected for the sole purpose of burying overhead utilities. Sufficient funds are available
to pay this cost.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Idaho Power Work Order and associated documents, authorizing the burial of all overhead
utilities along Third Street, between Washington and Colorado Streets; and authorize the Mayor to sign
all necessary documents.
