SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Staff requested estimates for the installation of an irrigation system and sod at the nine McCall Avenue
homes, currently nearly completed. Estimates were received from High Mountain Nursery, Teufel
Landscape, Green Planet, Inc., Eagle River Landscapes, and Eden Landscaping. Each estimate included at
least two irrigation zones in the front yard, with the ability to expand into additional zones, as well as an
average of approximately 1,500 square feet of sod in each front yard.
In an effort to complete the landscaping on Lot 10 as soon as possible, and with the authorization of the
Council, the City Manager authorized High Mountain Nursery to install an irrigation system and 1,500 s.f.
of sod on Lot 10.
Each estimate has been standardized at 1,500 s.f. of sod and is summarized below, showing the cost for the
remaining eight homes. The complete estimates are available for Council review.
High Mountain Nursery $17,502
Green Planet, Inc. $21,280
Eden Landscaping $22,222
Teufel Landscape $24,240
Eagle River Landscapes $25,509
High Mountain Nursery submitted the lowest estimate, for both Lot 10 and the remaining eight lots. If
awarded the contract for the remaining eight homes, they can begin work in two to three weeks.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Award the contract for landscaping to High Mountain Nursery and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary
documents.
