SUMMARY STATEMENT:
McCall Artist Connection is requesting permission to hang a banner across the SH55 to advertise for an Art
Show event. The Art Show will be November 24 – 25, 2007. McCall Artist Connection would like the
thth
banner hung November 12 through November 27.
This is the first submittal for Council approval to hang a highway banner. This task has historically been
carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and then by private citizen Fred Drake. The City of McCall has
recently taken over the responsibility of hanging highway banners, and per MCC 3.9.04, is seeking Council
approval.
McCall City Code reads:
3.9.04: TEMPORARY SIGNS: The following signs shall be permitted anywhere within the planning
jurisdiction and shall not require a permit:
(D) Street Banner Signs: Street banner signs advertising a public entertainment or event, if, after the
submittal and approval by the council of an application, and only for locations designated by the
administrator, during and for fourteen (14) days before and seven (7) days after the event.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve request to hang highway banner for the McCall Artist Connection Art Show event.
