AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH CME ASSOCIATES-
ROOSEVELT AVENUE STREETS CAPE IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT, PHASE II
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carterct is in need of specialized engineering
services in connection with the Roosevelt Avenue Strcetscape Improvement
Project, Phase II; and
'''HEREAS, CME Associates, 3141 Bordcntown Avenue, Parlin, New Jersey
08859, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services;
and
WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services
at a total cost not to exceed $145,000.00; and
\VHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer certifies that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal of CME Associates for the specialized
engineering services relatcd to Roosevelt Avenue
Streetscape Improvement Project, Phase II, in the total
amount not to exceed $145,000.00 is hereby approved;
2. Annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal;
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract.
Adopted this 20' day of March, 2006
and certified as a true copy of the
original on March 3, 2006.

Dear Mayor Reiman:
We are pleased to have the opportunity to present our proposal for construction
administration services for Phase II of the Roosevelt Avenue Streets cape project.
Phase !twill include the improvements from the new Turnpike interchange and will
continue along Roosevelt Avenue to Terminal Avenue and also includes Cooke Avenue.
It is our understanding that the contract has been awarded to the low bidder, Green
Construction, Inc.
With this in mind we offer the following scope of services.
Contract Administration Services for Phase /I
· Cûntíâct preparation
· Preconstruction meeting
· Shop drawing review
· Daily site observation
· Field meetings
· Coordination of utility relocations
· Review of and preparation of pay estimates
· Preparation of punch lists
· Project Close-out
Contract Administration Services shall include the following servic

Project Schedule
CME would expect to start work immediately after a contract is awarded for the Phase II
contract.
Exceptions
· Printing costs will be invoiced in accordance with the attached rate schedule.
· Application fees are considered extra and will be requested at the time of
submission.
· The above-quoted fees will be in effect for a period of twelve (12) months from the
date of this proposal; however, the fees on the hourly rate schedule are subject to
change by January 1 of each year.
Should you accept our fee estimate, kindly provide a purchase order or professional
services resolution authorizing same.
We would like to thank you for allowing us to present this proposal and look forward to
continue working with you in providing the professional services you require.
