SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Mosquitoes and West Nile virus are hot topics in outdoor activities, especially golf, due to serious health
threats. Mosquito abatement through fogging would provide protection from West Nile virus as well as
increase customer satisfaction. Revenue might also increase as golfers realize that the McCall Golf Course
is a safe environment in which to play.
Since the Parks Department has funding for the necessary chemicals and the Golf Course can supply the
licensed applicator and the proper equipment, the Golf Course proposes to coordinate this effort with the
Parks Department.
The Golf Course is requesting Council approval to fog for mosquitoes on the golf course as needed.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve mosquito fogging at the Golf Course as needed.
