SUMMARY STATEMENT:
It is the recommendation of the Golf Advisory Committee, with concurrence from the City Manager, the
Golf Pro, and the Golf Superintendent, that the golf rate structure remain the same for the coming year.
The golf course is struggling with a shortfall in income compared to our expense budget, but we do not
believe that raising rates will help us generate more rounds of golf. A few options for cutting costs include
reducing some areas in the budget as well as extending the irrigation loan.
Factors that we believe will help us generate more rounds of golf this coming season include an early
opening, a new website, and a golf course that was in great shape last year and looks to be the same this
year.
We want to promote the McCall Golf Course as the most affordable place to play and emphasize that we
have not raised our rates.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the golf rate structure as recommended.
