Mr. L.M. Ball
Planning & Zoning Director,
P.O. Box 255

Dear Mr. Ball:
Town of Gulf Stream
As you may be aware, the SFRPC has been designated by the Division
of State Planning as the regional planning agency responsible
under Chapter 380, Florida Statutes, to review Developments of
Regional Impact (DRI).
The Division of State Planning has scheduled workshops that will
focus on the role of local government in the DRI process, on
August 16, 1973, at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and
on August 23 at Edison Community College in Fort Myers. Both
sessions are scheduled for 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will be no
registration fee and enrollment is limited to local government
personnel.
I urge you to have one or more members of your staff attend to
have the benefit of an explanation of the DRI process and adminis-
trative procedures involved in implementation of Section 380.06,
Florida Statutes.
Reservations for the session in Boca Raton should be made by August
10 and by August 13 for the session in Fort Myers and should be
directed to:
Alan Visintainer, Division of State Planning
Bureau of Land Planning
725 S. Bronough Street
Tallahassee, Florida
(904) 448 -4925
If you have any questions regarding these workshops, please feel
free to contact me. I will be looking forward to working closely
with you in the DRI process.
Sincer ly,
M. Barry Peterson
