RESOLUTION NO. 2020-005
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR A
RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE TOTAL MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS
FOR FY 2020-2021
Whereas, Senate File 634 was approved on May 23, 2019, which aims to further notify
the public about potential property tax changes, and;
Whereas, This process requires a new, additional public notice, public hearing and
resolution, and;
Whereas, The City Council must hold a public hearing and pass a resolution approving
the maximum tax dollars that may be levied for the affected levies during the next fiscal
year,
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to set a
public hearing for February 18, 2020, at 7.00 p,m. to approve a maximUrn property tax
dollars resolution,
On the 2 1`�' day ofJanuary, at a regular m(:,oting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Havens introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2020-005, A RESOLUTION
SETTING THE DATE, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR A RESOLUTION RELATING
TO THE TOTAL MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS FOR FY 2020-2021 and
made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by COUncilperson Olney,
Ayes: Walls, Olney, Bartels, Schnedler, Walls
Nays: one
Absent: None
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2020-005, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE TOTAL
MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS FOR FY 2020-2021 to be adopted and
signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 21st day of January, 2020.
