A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY EXTENDING THE CABLE FRANCHISE WITH CHARTER
COMMUNICATIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City enacted Resolution No. 80 -1911 on June 17, 19980, granting
the original non - exclusive franchise to construct, own, operate and maintain a cable television system for
a term of fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, Charter Communications has succeeded to all rights of Crown Cable under the
Franchise Ordinance and is currently providing cable television service pursuant to the terms of the
agreement; and
WHEREAS, Charter Communications has made a timely request under the Cable
Communications Policy Action of 1984 and the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act
of 1992 for a renewal of its right to operate a cable television system in the City of Temple City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has agreed that the public interest would be served by
extending the duration of the current franchise on a month -to -month basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The non - exclusive Franchise Ordinance granting the right and privilege to operate
a cable television system by Charter Communications in the City of Temple City is extended on a month -
to- month basis.
SECTION 2. In granting this extension, the City of Temple City does not waive any of its rights
in Franchise Resolution No. 80 -1911 and Ordinance No. 80 -492.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and the
same shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
