HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-02-1959VILLAGE OF MEDINA HAMEL, MINNESOTA Medina Planning Commission The meeting of the Medina Planning Commission was called to order at 8 P. N. November 2, 1959• Members in attendance were M. Scherer, K. Fortin, H. Gaspar, A. Tesch, A, Schumacher and A. Theis as secretary. This meeting was called as a public hearing on proposed rem zoning of two tracts of land. Handled First ----the petition to rezone of Wm. Rudolph, Jerome Scherer and V. Wyman. Walter Schmitt objected on the grounds of the proximity of the tract to the County Pare and also because of possible residential developement in this area. Leo Feser objected on the grounds; of the proximity to the Medina Public Golf Course. Ken Dayton objected on the grounds that this rezoning would be contrary to the long range Village Plan of residential development. Mary Ahlstrom objected on the grounds of the proximity to young children. Lloyd Lathrop pbjedted on the grounds of the children and also the fact that this is a, residential area. Jerome Scherer at this time declared their intention of running a good Place. Al Tesch objected because of the nearness to the Park area. Mun Scherer objected to rezoning in small parcels. J. F. Crahan objected to rezoning in regard to the new ordinances. Bob Scott objected on the grounds of the bad effect on the planning and zoning already accomplished. Motion by Herb Gaspar to consider the opinion of the people present as being against the rezoning of this property. Seconded by Al Tesch. Carried. Second Petition of Walter Kohnen to rezone to r1-2 for Dump purposes. Ken Dayton asked what type of dump was desired. Anne Theis read a letter frogs the State explaining Sanitary Land Fill Dump. Robert Roehl stated that the group should consider the possibility of another application for a dump being received. Walter Schmitt objected to a garbage dump. Robert Roehl objected to opening a dump if we do not need one. Motion by Al Tesch to table the matter till tiie next Planning Commission meeting, and thew give a decision on it. Seconded by Alex Schumacher. Carried. A discussion on street surfacein followed. Notion by Alex Schumacher to adjourn, seconded b-,� Herb Gaspar. Meeting adjourned at 10 :30 P. M.
