SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has a revolving loan program for wastewater system
improvements for communities. In order to be considered for a loan, a community is required to submit a
Letter of Interest application, which will be ranked and placed on a statewide priority list for funding. If
selected for funding, the City would be required to complete additional loan documents and forms prior to
being granted a loan. Currently, the loan rate is 3% for a period up to 20 years. Staff has consulted with
CH2M Hill, and recognizes that improvements are needed for both Lift Station 7 and Lift Station 8. Cost
estimates for the improvements were provided by CH2M Hill, and the Letter of Interest application is being
prepared for submission on January 25, 2008.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve submission of the Letter of Interest for a State Revolving Fund
loan for needed improvements to Lift Station 7 and 8, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary
documents.
